What do you think about Hamachi? Do you recommend it? Tommy stops, surprised, head turning to look at him. So Tommy hums again. And Blue takes the notes and repeats them back to him. When Tommy takes it up a key, Blue repeats, then shifts it around; flips the notes on their head and stretches them out. Before the sound of it is even fully registered in his head, Tommy is up on his feet, not quite crouched, not quite tall as he pivots his body towards the one entrance in to the cell, backing away from the door, closer to Blue.

Tommy turns back to his fellow captive. There had been three earlier, all armed, and Tommy had no realistic chance over them, even if they were scared of him. He needs to take away the reason for them to want to come in the room. If they think that Tommy has killed him. The white one is banging his spear against the floor rather than levelling it at him, making a crackly growly shout, but Tommy drowns him out easily; screaming, wordless, as loud as he can, differing between guttural and pitched to try and figure out what hurts the dreamons more.

The dreamon howls and curses in its abstract language; Tommy getting up in its face to bellow a lungful of anger. The dreamon slumps, already dead, and behind there is a— An owl? There are white diamond markings on its individual flight feathers. Alright, Owl is a friend. That means that Owl is here to rescue Blue. If Owl is saving Blue, then Tommy is going to ride his coattails and claim freedom for himself too.

Blue makes a whimper of noise. His eyes are closed. He whispers apologies as Blue makes questioning noises; pained and breathless. Owl looks surprised. Outside the cell is familiar to the inside: pristine, curved, white; lights imbedded in the floor and the ceiling in one continuous bead that runs along the length of the corridor.

Demon fucker better keep his head down or Tommy was going to gouge him some eyes sockets. There are dead dreamon bodies littered around—he can see the familiar slate-blue one that was always accompanying the other two slumped against the wall, a familiar black scour sliced across its chest—but Tommy ignores all them as Owl beckons him forwards.

Still, he hauls Blue down the corridor until they come to a large hangar-looking room, littered with cargo, crates and who knows what else. Most importantly—most prominently—there are ships. Escape routes. Out the corner of his eye he can see The Demon fighting… something.

It is growling and snarling; wielding a large trident-like weapon that hums like an energy sabre and makes a near-piercing whistle every time that the boar jabs it towards The Demon who is wielding something similar but curved; a scythe-like weapon that cutters through the air with the sound of a swarm of wasps. Owl is talking to him, making horrible, worried chirps but Tommy is focused on the pounding of feet stomping up the wind and he turns back to the hulking visage of the boar charging forward.

Tommy just pounds his other fist, kicks out with his feet, tears and terror streaming down his cheeks, insults and curses and anything that comes to mind. He begins to yank with his hands where they still have grip on his halos, one dropping down to the mandible-like protrusion as The Demon jerks his head backwards. The Demon, agonised, slams them down against the ground. Tommy, winded, in simulacra to how the monster had been before, goes limp beneath him, one hand clawing at his throat, the other wrapped tight around bone and biological-metallic-skin, head tilted back, mouth thrown open wide as he struggles for air.

The cargo hatchway shuts, seals; air tight compression hissing and the ugly cleanliness of the white spaceship is hidden from Tommy. Behind him he can hear Owl, still in pain. Blue has his eyes closed. It is now, when the ship is travelling far, fast and on a pre-planned flight route, that the boar comes lumbering out from the cockpit, making a beeline straight for Blue and crumpling down on his knees next to him.

With careful fingers he reaches to his neck, but the wound is still closed. He makes a soft chirping, humming softly, similar to how Tommy had hummed to him. Tommy sags again, beneath the weight of soft laughter. There are more tears on his cheeks, not from pain this time, but relief. Tommy feels rather than sees Owl move, listening to his soft chirps and the sound of his voice; feathers brushing against Tommy as he wraps his wings around Blue, mindless of his injuries and missing feathers.

Owl is watching him with void-eyes; black orbs speckles with glittering white light like stars and Tommy blinks back at him.

Owl makes a soft call, a little whistle, something warm and honey gold. Tommy covers his hands and Wilbur with his blood, so just be aware of that when reading if it makes you squeamish. And thus completes the self-imposed challenge that I must write a one-shot because I write too many multi-chaptered fics. Hope you all enjoyed. Also, ART!!! Guys, honestly I can't give this enough credit, I literally sat and stared at it for god knows how long, I am in love with the emotion and style!
