File explorer downloads date groups

Deactivating the grouping in Windows 11 Explorer! What should I watch out for when deactivating file grouping! And now simply deactivate the grouping via the sort button also via the context menu button or right-click in the free area Pause the Windows 11 auto updates for up to 5 weeks! You cannot deactivate the MS Windows 11 updates, but the auto-updates can be suspended for up to 5 weeks 1. Set up the pause of Windows 11 updates. Can I add folder shortcuts to the start menu in Windows 11?

Also, the Group by option is specific to folders and once you change Group by for a particular folder, the changes will not be applied to all the folders. So, once you change the Group by in Save as window, it will remain the same regardless of whichever application you open the Save as window from.

Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback. That is it. As soon as you select None, the files will be ungrouped date wise and default to whatever view the Downloads folder is set to. In my case, the view is set to Details. This action will instantly fix files grouped by date in the downloads folder. Select Group by. Then select More ….. I want the old way back please.

How do I get rid of this new sorting? I hope this is not going to be like what happened to media folders where they now display metadata columns instead of name, date, size, type and even if you change them the next time you open the folder it has reverted back to metadata columns.

Update: I worked out that Group By must be set to none. How do I make this default so it doesn't revert back? I'd also like to stop my media folders reverting back to the old way too so they show name, date, size, type instead of Artist, Album, Title etc.
