After getting this message I cleaned up until I had over 80G free space and it still tells me I don't have enough space. Yet I can quite happily download and install from developer downloads — Dale.

I'll give that a shot. I also tried to reinstall Mimeo Photos which is the other one that gave me the disk space error. It also would not reinstall for the same, erroneous, disk space issue. Maybe boot to Recovery and run First Aid on the drive? I'm clutching for straws here
